Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Traffic Jam: Ultimate ("the game") collects on Android, iPhone, iPad and the web at trafficjam.kode4u.tech, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The game has no accounts, emails or passwords.
1. Information we collect
| Data | Why | Linked to you | Used for tracking |
|---|---|---|---|
| A random player ID and secret key created on your device | Saving leaderboard entries and keeping others from changing them | No | No |
| The display name you choose and your game results (level reached, daily puzzle moves and time) | Leaderboards | No | No |
| Push notification token, reminder setting, time zone offset and last time you played | Sending reminders at a sensible local time, only if you allow notifications | No | No |
| IP address | Delivering the game, stopping abuse (rate limits) and server error logs | No | No |
| Advertising ID (only with your permission) | Personalised ads by Google AdMob | No | Only with your permission |
| Ad interactions, device information and approximate location from your IP address (collected by Google AdMob) | Showing ads, measuring them and preventing fraud | No | Only with your permission |
Your progress, coins, stars and settings are stored on your device (in the browser's local storage on the web). We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
2. Advertising
The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) we ask for your consent first using Google's consent message. On iPhone and iPad the system asks before the advertising identifier can be used. If you say no you still see ads, but they are not personalised.
You can change your choice at any time with "Privacy choices" on the home screen (where available) or in your device settings: on Android under Settings → Google → Ads, on iPhone under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Read how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
The web version does not show ads.
3. Notifications
The game asks before sending notifications. If you allow them, we send occasional reminders about the daily puzzle and gift through Firebase Cloud Messaging. Turn them off with the bell button in the game or in your device settings; we then stop sending them.
4. Leaderboards
Your display name and results are visible to other players on the leaderboards. Please don't use your real name or anything personal as your display name. We remove names that are offensive.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use these services, which process data on our behalf or under their own policies:
- Google AdMob: ads in the Android and iPhone apps (Google Privacy Policy).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): delivering notifications (Firebase privacy).
- Google Fonts: the font on this website.
- Our own server: game data is stored in a database we operate.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
- Daily puzzle results: kept for leaderboard history, and deleted on request.
- Push tokens: deleted automatically when they stop working, or on request. With reminders off we send nothing to them.
- Server logs with IP addresses: kept for up to 30 days.
- Data on your device: kept until you uninstall the game or clear the browser's site data.
7. Deleting your data
To delete everything we store about you, email info.kode4u@gmail.com with the subject "Traffic Jam data deletion" and include your display name (shown at the top of the home screen). We delete your player record, results and push token within 30 days and reply when it's done.
Uninstalling the game (or clearing site data on the web) deletes the data on your device, including the player ID. Your leaderboard entries then stay on the server under your display name until you ask us to delete them.
8. Children
The game is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For questions or requests, contact Kode4U at info.kode4u@gmail.com.
